The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

It's good to see nice tight wings on this bird. Loose wings are starting to be a huge problem in the Orps.

Walt

Those are nice tight/level wings in my way amateur opinion. think he's going to be nice...gotta be if Vickie sent him and you are raising him!!

Thanks Cindy ! He is second generation from the trio I sent Sarah last winter.

Well my apologies to Sarah...gotta give her at least a share of credit for the F1...It must be very exciting for her and for you even though you are certainly well practiced in the Art, Vickie.

P.S.I am enjoying that Monty grandchick pullet....I need to post pics soon...my bunch is deep in juvenile molt at 12 weeks...lol...but she's still a beauty and wears your breeders 'stamp' IMHO.

Thanks all. Really Vickie gets the credit since all I did was let the ones she sent me do their thing. I'm very pleased with this fellow. The pullets look nice too but they're mixed in with the main flock and harder to get good pictures of.

Gorgeous! And how in the world to you keep them all so nice? I can't keep my boys together at all.

I know, I cant keep mine together either..she takes good pics and group shots...no idea how she does that....I have to take a hundred just to get one that looks like anything...I wind up with tails, blurr, you name it..heres one of my artful trys this morning...trying to get a nice shot of the heads, I got a back a blurr and back of a comb..Not good..but I improved after about 50 pics..

heres one of my famous group shots..not good!

but after number 40 pics or so it gets a little better. but its hot today so everybody opening wings to catch some cooler air.

Here is his Daddy, Monty, at 10 months with his first chicks..He's one of the chicks in this photo.Chip off the ole block. Monty is also the double grand dad of GALANIE's cockerel above.

Resemblance is striking in him and Harry. Here's a recent pic of raggedy Harry with some hatchery girls and his daughter Lucky on the left. Lucky just LOVES her daddy. He is kind to her and not trying to mount her yet. Shes a few weeks younger than the cockerel.

ETA Opps not all hatchery. That's Lucky's momma next to her. The barebacked girl I feel bad for but she's not torn up and it's just too hot to put an apron on her. She'd die of heat stroke.
