Is the base color of jubilees mahogany?

Yes, the males tend to have more white on them. As the males mature the white will be less noticeable. The temperament of the males varies bird to bird some requires more authoritative figure then others.

The Cuckoo Lavs look wonderful... But then we all know Nellie has nice birds and Paul sent you a very good start with that trio of Jubilees

Okay chicken experts! last one for a while, but a little more help if you don't mind? cockerels or pullets? 12-14 weeks old Thank you so much for your help!!

Although I am no expert, I think the first one might be a pullet. I found the lighter coloring red turned out to be pullets. Well, that's before the raccoons decimated my stock :/
