Where did you get it?

I have seen supposed Ameraucanas of no recognized color, with willow legs shown at APA/ABA show and not DQ'd.![]()
I was both surprised and pleased that he did not DQ.
He was not plucked or shaved because that is considered 'faking'. When consulting show people that I know and respect about his leg feather situation, I was pretty surprised that the suggestion I got over and over was to pluck the feathers. Showing something that I don't actually possess is not something that I'm interested in doing that's why he is in all his feathered glory for all the world to see.Wow... that boy has foot feathers! NOT a stub or two. Wouldn't you think the owner would have plucked or shaved them?
Quote: Actually, I did know this is a DQ and really struggled with the decision to bring this bird to the show. After factoring in the expense of blood testing, stress of the drive, missing my daughter's competition in Las Vegas in order to get my son to a bigger Poultry show...I decided not to take myself so seriously and to put myself and my bird out there. Not to win, but to show what colors had been imported and were here in the US.
A little background...my Partridge Orps came directly from Green Fire Farms, I knew when I purchased them that leg feathering was an issue, but loved the color so much I got them anyway. My Irish luck was with me and I ended up with a pullet with no leg feathering and a cockerel with much less leg feathering than this one. I didn't show these birds as I didn't want them exposed to whatever might be lurking at the show. The cockerel I did show will not be bred and is still quarantined.
this is one of my lemon cuckoo pullet splits
it was too cold to give her a bath when i took her picture..... sorry she is a little dirty
i want to breed her & her sisters back to the GFF daddy
