No, dang it.  It was not a fertility issue at all, definitely a shipping issue.  Actually sometimes I wonder how any hatch at all after being tossed around, it is amazing!
And yet I continue to order eggs  .

Yep I know that feeling

the Post office makes a lot of money shipping eggs, chicks, and birds... you would think that they would hand sort boxes marked fragile or eggs or live embryo's etc...but no they dont. they also have no training for the drivers and dock workers on shipping chicks. Our local feed store has lost I dont know how many because someone left them outside on a dock, delivered to wrong post office etc etc. it would not be that hard for them to retrain and take some care with shipping these things. they only care about how fast they can throw it on a conveyor and get it sorted and shipped that way. They actually showed the sorting facility here on the news, priority boxes marked fragile falling 3 feet from one conveyor to another... thanks for that PO...

Happy 2000 pages to the Imported English Orpington Thread!
This thread has grown by leaps and bounds since it's start back in 2010.  Such a wealth of information!

Good morning everyone, I so love spring we now have collected 3 Partridge Orp eggs and 1 Crele Egg from our new layers. We have other breeds that are starting to lay also. I just can't wait to hatch my first Crele and Partridge. Hopefully late summer we will be hatching Mottled Orps.
Our first 2 Lemon Cuckoos of the year hatched last night.

I really really want English Orpingtons!!! They are so fluffy and beautiful!!! Any breeders near New York? Sshhh it's a secret from dh . He would kill me for spending so much on a hobby farm. But they are just so diffrent from reg. Orpingtons.
