The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

In Cuddles, I am seeing some thin feathers near her head. Below are some close ups. Are these male hackle feathers or just beat up & frayed? (She has poor quality feathers, but we love her anyway.) I was told the lines are mostly English Orp with some American bloodlines occasionally used to improve feathers. Since I'm not planning on ever breeding, I don't care. I just want a big, fluffy, gentle hen. Do you still think pullet?

After 6 weeks of my hens begin separated from my roosters they are finally starting to grow feathers back!

Unfortunately most of the hens feathers are broken off instead of pulled out so before they look decent they will have to molt!

The hens are enjoying their time out of the breeding pens! But the roosters on the other hand are not LOL

Ok I love this thread so much but it doesn't stay very active so I'm gonna change that I'm gonna post a pic everyday and I hope everyone does the same!

Ok so KeithOrps got a new breeding rooster!
