The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

OK so here's our mystery blue orp from Oopsie. (Oopsie is a mauve orp hatched from a friend's eggs, so a diff line.)

It's now 5.5 weeks.
Sometimes I think, "Darn another cockerel!"
Other times I think, " She's such a pretty girl!"

Those wattles are way too pink for my liking, but the comb is so tiny. Mine always have huge headgear by 4-5 weeks, and this chick has barely a bump. I have no idea its gender.

I really hope I don't have to wait until it lays an egg or crows!

Any guesses?

Thank you♡♡ I didn't even consider skin/leg color... Ive looked thru what Meyer carries 100,829,193 times but havent figured out what any of these babies are short of the 2 EEs.. was hoping to thin them out before long but i refuse until i have their breeds 110% for sure..lol.. guess I am a closet chick hoarder

Swedish Flower Hen, perhaps? Mine have yellow legs.

That is a definite possibility because it is one of the breeds listed.. the main reason I didn't consider it was size. I thought they were more banty sized and this chick is ginormous..but of course hatchery could probably be any size..

That's a tricky one. The comb is pretty small but it has big wattles. It's well feathered compared to my almost 5 week olds. I'm going to guess pullet but I feel like it could go either way.

I am having a hard time sexing mine this time as well. But maybe I am in denial cause I think I have only 3 pullets out of 10. Just crossing my fingers that I am wrong.

They're a bit bigger than Leghorns when mature. They grow quickly though.

Hi all, was going to pop on and nosy through all the images, but I can see I have a long read ahead of me....
These are my first Orphs ever, and about 7 youngsters in the grow out pens.
Sorry crappy image, but sun was very welcome here today!
