I have been selling every egg lately !! I'm actually having to BUY eating eggs !! Luckily, I hatched some chicks from my US Orps a couple of years ago for a friend here and he keeps me supplied with eating eggs. I need a hen pen for only eating eggs. Hmmm..wonder what hubby would say if I told him he needed to build me yet another coop? I can guess he would say

Good morning everyone! Haha, I slept in a bit...

The babies are all thriving Joy, they're getting fatter and fatter each day.

A few are beginning to get wing feathers in, just the very tips at this point looks like actual feathers rather than baby down. The splash chick being one of them. I've continued to take pictures, just haven't had the time to upload them all yet. I plan on starting my "chick progression" thread this weekend, so I'm making sure to take pictures everyday. I'll have to do a couple back entries at this point...

But I promise by this weekend it will be up and running!

Now, what will I have for breakfast? ...

I have Two Blue Roo's, 2 Black Roos, and 2 Splash hens and 1 Blue hen. One of the Blues is just huge, at least I think so. The blacks are younger so smaller but starting to catch up.

My one Blue Roo who was injured is doing much better. I still have him isolated because he isn't quite strong enough to have to deal with the bigger roos pushing him around. He is still limping but when he needs to he goes fast.

The two light blues together- they are the biggest.

You can see the size difference in Skoche and the bigger kids here - isn't he the littlest thing?

this is the best I could do for a group shot- you can see the one I am hoping is black, and again, little Skoche

They got brave enough to explore the other half of the brooder- it's natural lighting, and gives them a place to get away from the brooder light, especially on days when it's 85 out anyway.
