The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Number 3 Is the best body type. I like his comb too. Number 4 you can go ahead and sell. Number 5 looks like he will be breeder quality mAYBE. I would let him fill more. I love number ones comb the best and he has definite possibilies for adding somethng you need. MHOP.

Number 3 was my choice, as of the present. I will wait awhile and see if it changes. Thanks everyone!

Yes you definitely need to give it a few more months as they make a lot of change in the next two months and really all the way to 12 months.

Kathy - This is my opinion - and I"m no expert by any means.

#3 definitely looks to be the best of the 5 right now. He has the best body type. He looks to be nice and broad. He is getting some nice fluff and does not look to be too leggy.

#1 - Love the comb, but too leggy and not broad enough for my taste.

#2 - Not a fan - not a good body type or shape.

#4 - Not a fan and I don't see any qualities that you would want to use to breed. I'd go ahead and rehome him.

#5 - At this point, the comb is way too big, but he may grow into that. I would give it a couple more months.

That last picture - nice fat girl !!

YW Kathy. I think it is safe for you to rehome #2 & #4. I don't think you would want to use those for any type of breeder program. Of course, just for running around the yard, they are just perfect !!!

I sent Ann's chickies out this morning. FIngers crossed that they arrive safely !!

I shipped some hatching eggs to a lady in Washington State a few weeks ago. WHen she got the package, the left side was totally crushed and she had nothing but a box of egg yolk. She had 4 eggs that were still viable and she managed to hatch one little baby. She sent me a picture of him today and he is just the cutest, fattest, healthiest looking chick. I decided to post a photo of him. I think I want him back !!!

Just look at the chest on this little guy !!
