The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I just got home a bit ago from driving 2+hours round-trip to the airport hub pick up my chicks from Joy. They all made it in fine shape and are settling in. Now I'm hoping .....can't believe I'm hoping for roosters.....for 2 or 3 roosters to pick from to go along with my three pullets that I hatched out from her eggs last spring.

Here are the chicks from Julie's eggs. There are 4 Orps and a random Olive Egger (it has feathered legs) in the picture.

I think I have 1 black and 3 Blues??

Two Beth's on here is going to confuse me - will I remember who I am? Those are darling babies, Other Beth - you have some attitude going on with that bunch- look at the little stink eyes already!

Katy, if you want roos, I will keep my fingers crossed, too!

Katy - I am so glad the babies made it safe and sound. Post pictures when you get a chance. You should have told me you wanted a roo - I could have stuck one of these extra that I have in the box !! SOmehow, I don't think you'll have a problem getting a couple of roosters, though.

Kathy- the Terramycin is a good idea - I forgot about it.

Two Beth's is going to cause confusion. I can't remember my own name half the time - how on earth will I keep two Beth's straight???

Beth with the new chick pictures - those photos are absolutely adorable !!! I love their facial expressions. From what I can see, it looks like all blue, but they can fool you. In that last photo, the one standing up? Look at the size of those legs - I'll bet you right now that is a little boy.

"Other Beth" is a fine name for me.

The chicks were pretty mad I took their heat lamp away for a second to take their picture - maybe that's why I received the stink eye! I'm excited to see these little guys grow. And we're hoping for all girls here, of course.

Other Beth

Other Beth those are darling. YOu had a good hatch if you got 4 out of six eggs. I agree with Joy on the legs on that little one. Look like Roo legs. Hope they turn out pretty. Thanks for sharing them.

I have both American and these English Orps .... ya know what I have noticed .... The legs! Holy cow, the English Orps have HUGE legs and feet! Much bigger than the American Orps. Have you all noticed that feature?
