RR - your girl is just lovely. She has a very pretty color. Her shape and tail look really, really nice !!! You'll be as bad as the rest of us pretty soon !!! LOL.

Julie - Just beautiful girls !! I love Minerva's sister. If she produces as pretty babies as Minerva does, she's a keeper. Miss M is just...wonderful, and Taylor - WOW !!

And...speaking of exciting...Me and hubby are off tonight to Cameron Indoor Stadium to watch Duke basketball !! I absolutely am beyond excited !! Oh, and Julie - we are playing UAB !!! GO DEVILZ !!!

Wow, 200 pages! Amazing! Well, page 200 seems like a good place to post a few updated pics of my Joy Orps. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Way too much going on here the past couple of months. Just amazing how much everyone's Orps have grown! Mine just recently turned 7 months. I lost one of my girls last week-found her in the corner of the coop. I think they piled up to keep warm, and poor girl must've been at the bottom. I separated girls from boys after that happened, which I should've done long ago. So, I've got 3 girls left, and about a zillion boys.

I picked a boy to keep them company a couple of days ago, and they seem happier. Here are a few pics of the quad. I need to get pics of the rest of the boys. I'll post those when I do. Hope everyone's doing well. Oh, and Joy, have a blast at the game tonight! I'm not much into basketball, but I love a good football game!

this is a pullet out of Winston. She is looking really good. She is 6 months old

She may be more like 7 months old. She has really started filling out but no red comb yet. I think she is going to be a very pretty girl for breeding.

Those are beautiful, Julie!!!!!

I have a question.

I just built new roosts for my crew because I figured they were too old for the 6" ones they had before. The ones I built are 24" high (about knee height). The girls don't seem to have a problem, but the boys seem to have to really work to get up there. Johnny Cash (my little lead butt) acts like he is fighting against 10x normal gravity. When they come down they all make a huge ka-THUMP sound.

I don't want them to hurt their legs. What height roost do you all recommend for the little chunks?

I have diffferent sizes depending on what pen was built when. In my old pen the Roost go up to 6 feet high with levels getting to the top. I had other type chickens in here when it was first built. Charlie sleeps on the top every nite. I have pens with two foot high ones for silkies at one time. Whoever is in there sleeps on them. I have a few still sleeping on the ground which I don't prefer.

Well, I don't know how, but I somehow missed all the pictures on page 198 !! Julie - Thanks for telling me you had posted a picture of Chester a few pages back, because I would have missed these pictures entirely !!!

Chester looks like he is growing out nicely. Is he still a sweetie pie? That horseshoe tail on that pullet is lovely - just what we like to see, huh? Charlie is looking spectacular !!! Winston is looking better, but still not completely through that molt.

Rsngstr - I love your blue pullet. SHe looks to have a lot of promise. Keep us updated with pictures.

Paula - I am SO glad to see you back. I have missed you !! Your black girls are just beautiful !! I'll be curious to see them a month or so from now. Your blue girl and little cockerel look really nice too.

All the pictures everybody posted are just great !!

Julie - I meant to tell you that I just love the picture of your soap !!

You have really turned into a soap-making fool, that is for sure. I think I am going to try to make a batch this weekend. My kids are screaming for soap, so I best get on the ball. I am going to work on getting the scent right in that creamy white soap that I sent you. I'll also make a batch of my chamomile. Of course, this all depends on if I can get "Crip" to take a nap so I can have the time to make it. I've dubbed the hubby "Crip."

Completely off topic - went to the Duke game last night and it was absolutely fantastic !!! Best $400+ spent in a long time !! We had great seats - center court, about 6 or 7 rows up. We completely enjoyed ourselves and my throat hurts from yelling and cheering with the "Cameron Crazies." Since "Crip" is disabled at the moment, we got the VIP treatment....we got to park in the handicapped parking lot, and a cart picked us up in teh lot and took us to the door and then picked us up after the game at the door and took us back to our car. I said that we'll just keep taking crutches with us every time we go and we'll get the VIP treatment. LOL.
