The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I asked my Mentor what she thought when I sent her the pics and my GUESS was wrong....lol She said I PROBABLY have 4 blues and 1 black.... So much for a newbie knowing what they are talking about. It sure is nice to have someone who knows what she is doing.

Bill I am looking forward to pictures from this book. Are you showing this chicken that you washed?

It is going to be beautiful for the Newnan show. Looks like about 70 degree temp. That will be wonderful. Imogene and I plan on going on Fri and staying till Sat evening. I am just hoping I am not the only one showing Orps.

well at least somebody answered you!

Do you have your pens separated so you know which pen the eggs came from? I mark my eggs and if I am hatching from different pens in the same hatch i use little lingerie mesh bags and put eggs from the separate pens in them so they hatch in the bag and I can tag them. Of course the only one of the chicks I thought was black was the large chick with the very black legs. The one with the broad chest.

Thank you Julie. Same thing that CK said. I have my chickens separated into 2 pens since I only have 2 Roos and 4 hens. and I collect my eggs (or check for eggs) every couple hours throughout the day so I know which hen lays which eggs, then I mark them...I am just so excited about these chickens. I love them and their personalities. Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it.
