I love Albert too, wattles and all lol

Boy any of those boys can come and live in Washington with me any day any time. What wonderful gorgeous birds!

Julie I have a show coming up next month, and I am trying to decide which of the boys I should take. It will be my first time actually showing one and not just watching. I have Lancelot (aka Lance) the splash from your stuff and the Black boy Arthur, who is about 50% English. I am so excited.....I wanted to show Gwenivere but her feathers are pretty messed up from the breeding. So just the boys will be going this time. I will keep you updated.

So how do you tell color with chicks? I have not seen enough babies to know which one will be which

Sometimes it is hard to tell between dark blue and black, but for the most part the ones that have a greyish cast when dry will be blue. Blacks will be black, the dark blues can look almost black.

With time it gets easier.

Joy I think the book is available for free online. If I ever get my computer back from my husband I will see if I can find it.

If you all can not find it, I'll be happy to take pics page by page. I have just started to read thru it. And can say it is a must for us all to have. You will not be sorry to read it. We all can learn from truelly one of the greatest names in Orp history.

I just found a new clutch of eggs in my basement. They were ticked cause I took all the eggs from under the basement staircase. And tore up an old comforter, on this table and decided, whatta nice place to lay. Three days of work for them. One is from my Mottled hen and another is my Blue Copper looking Orp girl who is a BUS baby girl who will throw the same pattern gene. Anyone like Blue Copper Orps?
