Tricia - Thanks !! You should see me on "photo shoot" day. I'm scooting all around the yard on my behind or crawling around on my hands and knees. I clean the yard up a bit that way

I usually take well over 100 shots to get what few good ones I get.

Tricia - Petra is a strange girl. She is very much the loner and she is actually quite rude to the other chickens and none of them much like her...but she is a pretty thing !! I did see Winston get on her yesterday, so I am anxious to see what those chicks look like.

Thanks for the hatching vibes - sending them back to you too !! Good luck with your hatch

RR they look really nice and round. Looks like you have some nice chicks there. They have nice big heads. Congrats on a good hatch.

Oh, Kathy wanted to say your pictures are very nice. Love that black hen. That black boy has a nice round broad breast.

She's the way she is because she knows how beautiful of a bird she is! She just feels superior to everyone else.

In all seriousness though, I feel like maybe the Splash birds do know they look different and it may effect their behavior or "sense of belonging" in the flock. I've seen Edmund completely across the yard away from the rest of the Orps, on his own just looking kinda lost. It may be because he's a big goof, too... but he is my only Splash, maybe he can tell no one else looks like he does?

Joy anytime you want someone to baby sit your Nigel, I could take him and let him play with my White Orp pullet. Her man is not satisfying her. I moved the White cockerel out, and moved my better Buff cock in to make an attempt to get something White out of her. They'll have Buff leakage, but Harry's Cuckoo's are in the game to clean up all Buff leakage.

Kathy, I was wondering where one of those outdoor pen I have went too. Now I know. Your Blacks look fantastic. Nice birds!

Just one pic of my attempt to satisfy my White Orp pullet with TONKA. I know it will be a long time before I have a real White Orp program. Maybe Joy will import some Whites too along with a Pownall Buff or three.
Good luck to all with your babies.

My Checkerboard Mottled just got moved out after this pic of her was taken. She is with my number two Black Orp cock, who has a lower tail angle. Should be an interesting year for us all.

enjoy!!
