The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Quote:
This is what I found to be on Greenfire Farms website:
Greenfire Farms has successfully imported a small number of cream legbars from two distinct British bloodlines. We plan to release their offspring to dedicated hobbyists beginning in February of 2011, ushering in a new era of auto-sexing chicken breeds in the United States.

Our birds have arrived in America, and we plan to release these birds to poultry enthusiasts in the fall of 2011. Because of the intense interest expressed in the color genetics of this variety, we intend to offer juvenile pairs of these bantam Orpingtons at a significant discount –$399 per pair– in order to quickly distribute the chocolate gene throughout America

Wonder where their jubilee, and chocs bantams come from??? Certainly not from Great Britain!!!

Further to our telephone conversation this morning, I can confirm that you are the first exporter to request and use the Health Certificate for Adult Poultry to the USA.

We will advise you when the Health Certificate has been issued for your export on 1 March 2011.

Kind regards, Angela.

You figured out which one of your boys are crowing yet? I'mm still trying to figure out which one of The "O's" are laying !! Whichever one it is, she is laying pretty consistently. I've had an egg every day since the second egg

Add 2 drops of green food coloring to one of the O's vents. You will know the very next egg which one is laying.

Tammy - I've tried the food coloring thing many times and I never can tell any difference. I never see any coloring on the egg - just green or purple or blue poop !!! Is there a trick to it? Have you done it where it actually works? Please do tell !! I was just asking about this a few posts above !!!

It sounded like foghorns being blasted in my backyard this morning... no complaints from the neighbors yet, it's probably time to start passing out free eggs though...

Julie - notice how beautiful Matilda is now.

A few months ago, Matilda had about 10 feathers - hardest molt I've ever seen in a chicken. I thought she would never get feathers back, but she is prettier than ever now and she has started laying again.

Oh boy !! Yep, it sound like time to start passing out those eggs for free !!

Everyone of my boys were in a "crow off" yesterday. It went on for about 2 hours - no lie. I had a headache by the time I put them up for the night. Silly Nigel is always the one that starts it all !!!
