The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Yes.....he's the only one who has it.....the other three that are also black don't have any. Course he was the only one who'd get in the picture. I don't see any in the blue or the splash either.

Jeremy - YES - I do dream about them !! Isn't this just pitiful? LOL.

It was really, really hard to break up the Royal family, but hard as it was, I feel we did the right thing. Hagrid went over to my girlfriend's house. He was just really hard on the girls and I don't want my girls torn all to pieces. I'm sorry you let your blue boy go. I know it is hard, but it does help that he is close

I have had dreams of me and the chickens, I've always had pretty vivid, outlandish dreams. One where the birds were like 8 feet tall... don't ask...

The blue and Edmund were starting to squabble more too, I was going to have to make the decision eventually I just didn't think it would come so soon.

I love the birds I have remaining and I cannot wait to start hatching wee ones from them!

Katy - That is a LOT of red. I have never seen anything like that before. Well, better that one get it all, than a bunch get a little

I'm not asking Jeremy LOL

I also like the 3 girls in a row - "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil."

Katy you have some really good size in all these birds. Isn't it fun breeding them together to produce what your looking for. Love the SL Wyandottes. great size in them too.
All Beautiful birds.

Thank you all......I enjoy them a lot...

I won't be keeping the fellow with all the red. Hopefully today I can get some pictures of the other joy pullets and the other young roos.

I got a pullet egg in the "joy" pen yesterday in addition to the one I've been getting some days. The older group of "julie" girls have given me 4 all this past week so I guess that means I've got to start the incubators up.

So I have a question.......when you breed two 1/2 english birds together is the resulting offspring 3/4 english?

Wondering the same thing Katy-about offspring being considered 3/4 English. I got my first baby yesterday from my Joy Orps!

It's either a Splash or a light blue. I'll take a couple of pics when I pull him out of the hatcher later today. This was from my very first 3 eggs from my girls. One out of three hatched. I haven't opened the others yet to see if they were even fertile. I've got more eggs due to hatch in about a week and a half. And I put 6 more in last night. Hoping they're fertile.

I'm not sure about the 1/2 to 1/2 = 3/4. I would not think so, though. Will have to do some research.
