Well, I've fought the urge as long as I could. I plugged in one of my bators this morning and will set some eggs in the next couple of days to check fertility.

Welllllllllllllllll, it is done! I plucked and I trimmed. Here's hoping it will help! OMG, a few of those girls are so dang fluffy I could hardly even locate their vent! NO WONDER!

Just checking in after our show at the APA show in Delaware. All I can say is WOW! There were people showing from Arizona, Indiana, NY, NJ, OH, VA, Mass, ... This was only my second show, so I have a lot to learn and the people there were so friendly and informative. There were only 3 black cockerals there but my two got 1st and 2nd and he also got reserve variety(there were about 10 blacks there), the hen that beat him for best variety also won reserve english, a buff won best english.
I will say that the boys did draw a crowd, and I have a few people wanting to work with me on using these guys with their girls.
Hopefully going to another show March 20th.

Also, I did get an AI lesson!!! we'll see how that goes!
