If I get a chance I will take some pictures of some of my chicks hatched in the last four weeks.

CONGRATS on all y'all that have gotten your first eggs !! How exciting !!

I have one egg in the hatcher due to hatch today and two more due to hatch 03/16. I am anxious to candle my first big batch of eggs that I set after I trimmed everyone - am hoping for good fertility. I think day 10 will be Monday on those.

Julie - Would love to see pictures of your chicks !!!

No eggs for us yet.

Edmund has taken up a new hobby though, trying to mate everything in sight, including our cats, much to their displeasure and to our entertainment.

So he may not be trying to mate them, but he does chase them around the yard and grab a hold of their heads like he wants to!

He's still the sweetest boy to me though, not once has he ever showed a bit of bad behavior towards me.

My girls are approaching 7 months old too, on the 29th of this month, maybe we will see eggs soon...

My lone little egg has a pip

Concern though - I've NEVER had an egg pip on the bottom (I use egg cartons to hatch), but this one is. I removed it from the carton and laid it on its side in, pip up. Do I need to do anything else?

Joy, I've had two eggs that pipped on the bottom I just rolled them so the pip was up and they came out just fine.

Thanks Carolyn - I just checked on it and he is making progress. I'll just keep a close eye on it.

Okay here are a few pictures.
These are all Charlie chicks that are 3 weeks old. I like the black boy with his chest puffed out.

there is a blue pullet in the bunch and you can see her feathers are beginning to lace. Two black boys and one blue girl in this hatch

Nest is some two week olds. All Charlies except for two. One black has a band on it and is out of Princes pen and the other is out of Champ's pen.

Things are turning green here. We got the pool cover off. The grands will be here this weekend

I am loving the head on that splash!
