Carolyn - Looks like a cockerel and a pullet to me. I love the odd brown one....cute !!

TRicia - Nice little bantams !! (I've never seen a bantam orp in person) !!

I have 3 eggs in the hatcher - 2 have pips and are due today - the third I just put in the hatcher today - not due until Saturday. My bators are stuffed. I have a friend on stand-by who said I could put eggs in her bator if I needed it !! LOL. Good grief !! Jeremy - I'm going to be overrun with chicks right along with you !!! But it is such fun !! and addictive !!

We are planning on coming to the Greensboro show on 04/09. We might go to the Winston Salem show on 03/26 - though with gas prices, might skip that and do the Greensboro one only. You going to be at the Greensboro show?

If all stays as planned right now I will be at both shows.

Might take a couple of the LF to Winston as it is suppose to be a bigger show.

Carolyn I know the dark one is a pullet but I can't be for sure on the blue unless I could see the back. Top of the back that is. Generaly the boys are not laced all over. The backs start getting an uneven darkness.

Mine still aren't laying either, everyone else seems to be though.

I found this picture today on my camera, it was the last one I took of Edmund before we lost him.

I think he was quite the looker.

Tricia - Let me know if you'll be at the Greensboro show - we are definitely going to that one. Not sure about Winston-Salem just yet.

Jeremy - He reminds me a LOT of Nigel - such a handsome young lad. I'm so sorry for you losing him

On a happy note here - I woke this morning to the happy sounds of chicks peeping !! One of my eggs have hatched, the other is furiously pecking away at that egg. I hope to have another chick in a few hours.

I also candled last night and I have 14 pure English eggs growing.

Some due to hatch 03/24 and the other due to hatch 03/31

GOod Morning JOY>... I too have babies hatching last night. 6 what look like all blues have arrived so far. They are not 100% like yours but I am still happy to have them

Well my other little chick is hatched - so both eggs hatched !! Keeping my fingers crossed that the 14 English eggs hatch soon !!

Good job Renie !! Mine aren't pretty after I trim them, but I don't show, so it doesn't really matter that much. I just trim about the size of a baseball all around the vent. Some people pluck - I jsut can't bring myself to do that, though - I just trim as close as I can without nicking the skin.
