I have hatched from Cynthia and I also have these English Orps. The difference is quite obvious. Different people have different preferences, but the birds from Cyn and from Joy are totally NOT the same!

Well, it isn't all about size either. There are a lot of differences in the American and English Orps besides size; i.e. back length and angle, feather quality and loose feathering, heads, shape of tail, etc. Add these things to the huge size difference and it makes a very distinct difference.

Have Mercy!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 hens from Gumpsgirl.. the other 9 or so were all roosters... any who.... there is a BIG difference between them and the hens I got from Bama... They can't hold a candle to Bama's birds... OR any of the pictures I have seen of Joys and other members that have posted chick pictures of birds going back to the English lines.

I have both English & Ameican, & I can tell the difference already & they are only about 4-5 weeks old, fethers are completly diferent & so there build, looks like little baseballs with legs.

I just googled guinea/chicken crosses. OMG! they are the ugliest birds they look like buzzards! Maybe I should go out and remove those eggs, but she has been such a good brooder I hate to do it to her. What do you all think of a guinea raising regular chicks, do you think she will make them mean and nasty like she is? She attacks any new bird.

For comparison. A blind man could surely see the difference in these birds. LOL.

The first picture is of my oldest and biggest American Orpington - she is about 3 years old here.
