The only person I know for sure who is breeding chocs to blacks is Marc at Heirloom. In his batch of Bantam Choc Orps he got a LF by mistake and is using his English blacks to get LF Choc splits. These are 100% English birds.

Other than that, I have no idea.

You know talking about Marc and that he is in Purcell, and I drive thru there at least once a year.....hmmmmmmm.

To those of you who have pure English Chocolate bantams, do you plan on breeding those birds to pure English LF Black Orpingtons to create a LF Chocolate bird?

In regards to bantam chocolates it will depend on what people want to see running around their yards or what they plan to do with them as to whether they are 100%UK or part American. I for one show my bantam orps in several colors currently have bbs and buffs as well as several project colors. Love love love the "type" of the UK bantams but that will not work for showing here. I can only assume that one day chocolate color will be an approved color to show and I would definitely bring them out, but they would have to meet APA standards and not UK. With that being said having some that are part American would be a step in the right direction.
