I'd love to see Wheatens brought in, too.

I just don't have enough room for them all! I think I will have to stick to the Blue-Black-Splash variety. I have my older bunch, but the only 100% Imported English I have are the 6 chicks I have growing out. I might keep one of the black roosters from them, just to put with my Lavender girls.

Didn't these hatch late?? What day number were you on when they pipped?? Always like to take note of how many days so when I have future hatches won't panic so after day 22.
Congrats on your new babies Jeremy.

Jeremy,

Splash X Splash gives 100% splash, but i guess you already new this.

Marc

Marc,

Yup, that's correct. I don't have any mature Splash hens though, hopefully at least one of the three Splash chicks that hatched will be a pullet. Neville was penned with 5 Blue hens and 1 Black hen, so I expected some Blues but definitely more Splash. I'm happy either way.

The three youngest Blue chicks that hatched are much paler in down color than the others, my guess is these chicks came from my light girl Alice, or maybe even Elizabeth. They are my lightest colored hens with excellent dark lacing. Hopefully these chicks mature like their mothers, or lighter in color still.

How is importing coming along? Any new arrivals yet?

Jeremy,

September if all goes well. The paperwork is ready on both ends. The rules about vaccinations changed, we had to vaccinate for END and wait 21 more days prior to export.

You can "create" Crele by putting a buff rooster on cuckoo hens.

That will resemble Crele to an extent, but genetically it won't be the same or breed true.

How would you describe Crele?
