The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Oh Jeanne, they are sooooooo cute

The eggs looks great. Seem to be good size for bantam.
thanks for the info

I've seen the eggs, and I was also shocked that an egg that size came out of a bird that small (and under all the fluff, they are much smaller than the small size they appear to be)

If you have ever imported a bird (or egg) just once and saw what the expenses and procedures it would help one understand.

It will allow you to appreciate what the importers are doing. Not about making money on expensive birds.... I just want to break even and bring a bird over for everyone to admire.

I am most certain greenfire farm and other importers are doing this for altruistic reasons only.

Yes, and I am glad they do

. It is difficult and expensive to import only after you can locate someone who is willing to export to you. It is a lot of work and thousands of dollars just to import a few birds. I commend you all for doing all the work and will pay the big bucks to get your birds when you get them here!

They are worth it, keep up the good work

if only it was an orp

that is a really pretty color , you scared me for a second, I saw the feathered feet and thought thats not an orp but then caught up with the reading..there used to be a lot more colors way back in orps including one called ermin..a columbian color that was polular a long time ago, wonder if this color was too?

It is nice to see everyones beautiful Orps. Thought I'd say howdy and encourage everyone to keep it going.
I don't have much in way to share pic wise. I have culled down to just 2 adult Blue hens and Bamma's boy Dr "Jay's" son Spanky.

Spanky's sister and my best Blue to use this coming year.
