Thanks for the offer. I have found someone on here in Washington. I was looking for lavender and jubilee.

These images are from Keith's Orps,

His birds are obviously still in the project stage, but can you imagine how beautiful they would be when they're finished?

I think you should totally do it Joy!

I think establishing the color might be pretty easy to do, too.

This pullet is Gold Laced Chocolate, also from Keith's Orps, more importantly she is a F1 bird. Look at that lacing already!

So theoretically you should get some decent Gold Lacing in your first crossing of Winston to Goldie Joy, then you just cross those babies together and probably cross a few of the cockerels back to Goldie to improve the color even more and keep working at it.

So exciting!

That's what I was thinking.

ETA: Not only will this project create Gold Laced Blues, but it should also help to create regular Gold Laced birds with correct type. Winston should definitely add some girth to his Gold Laced offspring!

ETA (again!

. Thanks for posting these pictures Jeremy. I had never seen Keith's Orps page before. I'm going to go scour his page.

Anyway - ya'll have convinced me !!! I'm going to hatch some Winston/Goldie eggs and see what happens.

I want to try to wait until Spring, but I hear that incubator calling my name quite loudly !!!

I'll try to get another picture of Goldie this weekend. Winston definitely should add some girth to the chicks - he is broad as a side of a barn.
