The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hi Kathy,

I just placed an order with Llewellyn's and received it the week before Christmas, but I did not order the "Moon Sign Book." Looks like it is something I need to get. I planned on placing another order next week because there were a couple of books that I wanted and were supposed to go on sale. I'll add the "Moon Sign Book" to the order. I order quite a few of the Almanacs, calenders and date books every year - they have good stuff.

Thanks for the info !!

I noticed they have it for Kindle. I was thinking you had a Kindle. Do you prefer books? I'm a book kinda gal myself.

I do have a Kindle and I use it for some of the free books - but I prefer an actual "book." I love the feel of a book in my hand. The Kindle is handy (I like being able to enlarge the font for my old eyes), but....still prefer books.

Hmmmm my old timer's stories and wives tales.... as I joked with Joy - I know some people think I am crazy about the hocus pocus moon signs... but for all of you that are hatching quality birds.... ya might want to look at the sign of Libra.... hint hint..

Richard - I'm with you on the Moon signs. I do a lot of stuff according to the Moon's cycles, but never hatched chicks - though I am going to definitely give it a try this year.

Those wings do look horizontal. A good friend of mine and Orp breeder used a bird with wings that were even higher and that trait will be passed on down and you may consider using a different cock in your breeding. I culled yesterday 3 males. And one had his wings about as high as yours. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
