The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I would guess that either only the Black x Black eggs hatched or the Blue x Black that hatch 50% Black were the ones that hatched. Just keep your eye on an extra Splash or Blue male this fall at the shows. folks will be trying to sell all their extras males, no matter what color or origin they have.

jmanderson777 ... Do you keep food down for your birds at all times??? Just look a little thin to me.

all the time. They are currently eating DuMor starter crumbles. I have 9 chicks total together right now. These are the oldest and also significantly larger than the rest so they don't have issues getting to the food. They go through two quarts of food and water a day right now between all the chicks. I will be switching to Southern States starter/grower feed in a couple days once the 25lb bag is gone.

Bred my black Roo with 2 blue and 1 black hen. All four chicks that hatched have a bit of white on the tips of a few feathers. Will that go away? They are 9 weeks old. Will try to get pics.

This boy just turned a year old and lives at my friend Imogenes house. I am planning to get a few chicks off him in the fall bred over my best and biggest girls

I drove three hours to pick up this little chick on Friday - 75% english. There were three to choose from, and the other two were lighter with nice cream colored markings on their faces, like little bandits!

I went for the darkest one - she seemed the most friendly. Wish I could have taken them all!!

The breeder thought they were five weeks old, but I'm thinking more like three. What do you guys think?
