The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I agree Mauve is a rather dull name. In Grant Brereton's last book they called them Lilac Orpingtons, but that doesn't seem to match either.

Lilac seems a little too, I dunno... prissy?

Will you be breeding for a Mauve cockerel?

We were discussing earlier how there aren't many (any really) pictures of Mauve males online.

Yeah I am going to work on breeding a cockeral next fall. I don't have the first clue what he will look like if I pull it off. I have never seen one online either.

This is the only picture I've seen with a roo and I'm honestly not even 100% sure if it is Mauve. I pulled this image from a UK EBAY listing. I could probably try to email the seller and see if they have any better pictures. They might think I'm crazy though, emailing them out of the blue.

He could be Mauve. From that picture he looks like a light blue male. Maybe that is what they look like?

Yeah my favorites are the blues and probably always will be regardless of what new color comes out. I just wanted to play around with the blue to chocolate combo. Also it was a test to see if a bantam rooster could breed a LF hen.

Aveca - The pullet in the avatar is my favorite. She just started laying a couple weeks ago.
