The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

OK, one last set of pic (I took all of these this evening, it was finally less than 100 degrees

)

This is some pictures of my LF chocolate project and my LF Black English. They are the same age and very close to the same size - pullets. The rooster is on the smaller size. In case you can not tell from the picture there are 2 pure chocolate pullets and a chocolate roo, the rest are black.

Just wondering what one would get if they crossed a Jubilee Orp with a Black Orp

IF it is a NICER Black Orp, you would get nicer Jubilees. Went to Crossroads, and talked to an older fella who learned from a 90+ year old English guy and learned that Black Orps were used to better the quality of Jubilees. That guy is making Banty Jubilees down in Louisiana
Good luck and show us all how it turns out

Thanks that's kinda what I was thinking I would get or maybe even mottled out of it ?

Will it work Nellie I believe it's one of your boys i'm trying to get

Yes it will but it will take a couple generations. The first generation you will probably get all black chicks(maybe a little bit of mottling). Then I believe you breed those black pullets back to the sire. ( anybody........... am I telling him the correct information?)

Good luck!!
