I'm getting a sample of the water. I'll have it tested if she doesn't mind. She already thinks I'm weird since I grow worms for mine. I really think the fish waste adds something that's beneficial.

Dee, my only drink rain water , and we get lot now with Sandy.

You're after my mother's heart. She believed in rain water for her garden. She avoided the convenience of a hose if she could barrel water.

I agree. I've read of people using diluted fish emulsion and adding it to, can't remember, either the feed or the water. There's definitely something "fishy" going on.

I have 4 big koi ponds. When I do clean outs in the spring, everything grows like crazy, but I've never given the water to the Orps. HOW big would they get?? I don't need Jurassic Park here!

For the time being, I'll stick to the Eye of Newt, as long as my broom holds out.

Hmmm... In our town, we have an island in our lake that the locals call duck poop island. It's overrun with ducks and geese. I wonder if that has something to do with the minnows or if it is just the "cool" place to hang out. lol... Interesting theory you have. I'd be interested to know what you find out.

Jurassic Park indeed. It's a bit intimidating when I sit in their yard and 9 boys come running to "visit". They ARE raptors.

I'm going by there Sat and ask if I could have a sample of the water. It would be worth a few dollars to test it...just so the mystery is solved. I might start bottling it and selling it...
