OK my hatching friends, I have 26 eggs in the bator. Most are BCM and most have lost pretty appropriate amounts of weight so far. However, I have 4 that have not lost enough. All are alive, but I am now concerned about the inevitable necessary increase in humidity. Do I leave the humidity level where it is now which ranges from 40 - 50% and just go for it or do I goose it up and risk these babies drowning?? Please advise asap. @SallySunshine @azygous @WVduckchick

Relative humidity will play a role, so if your house environment is extremely dry, as most winter indoor homes are, you may want to goose the incubator humidity. But not too much above 50 because as the chicks begin to hatch, that alone will raise the humidity in the 'bator.

@oregonkat how's it going?
Well, my husband woke me at 3.15am telling me he could hear a chick. So up I got, put on the kettle for tea and sure enough there was a little PULLET Yaaaaayy auto sexed CCL/BCM cross and a whole bunch more pipping so I spent the next 4 hours sitting and waiting and I watched that beautiful full moon set. As of now I have 11 babies, a day early, but I realized that the full moon would pull all the new babies into the world. Awaiting the rest, most of which have pipped and a few stragglers. All in all, a text book hatch. All clean as whistles so far. Of my four CCLxBCM I have 2 hens and 2 roos, so pretty standard. One very happy chick Mama here. :love
