They aren't barred?! Huh!You could ask that question on the Cream Legbar thread. I haven't quite gotten an understanding of their genetics yet. The hens are not barred but still produce male offspring with a head dot. Maybe we can learn together.![]()
Thanks for posting this link, was thinking this morning of going there to ask about earlobes.
Oooo, yes, earlobes!! Amazing earlobes! Hee, hee, you write earlobes enough times and it starts to look really weird. They aren't barred?! Huh!

They don't look barred to me, but maybe they are??![]()
Supposedly they have white opalescent(tinged with blue) earlobes, but, my CL's earlobes seem to be reverting to red.Oooo, yes, earlobes!! Amazing earlobes! Hee, hee, you write earlobes enough times and it starts to look really weird.![]()
OK, whew!Ok my bad. They are barred.
Mine at 16 weeks this past Friday and not showing any signs of reddening up but their combs are not black, but a kind of pale pinky orange. I cant remember if CCLs are early layers??? BCM are later, yes? I seem to remember that my BCM hens only started laying around 26 - 27 weeks. It would be nice if these little pullets decided to produce a little earlier.@oregonkat my BCMxCCL is 15 weeks and her comb is turning red(from black).
I was able to sell the 3 cockerels!
Still have 6 other younger ones tho.
