The inevitable humidity question, day before lockdown, help please!

@aart, never mind about the question of selling your eggs, I just read your post on the 'giant egg' thread and see that you do. What weight are you going for when you weigh your cartons before sale?

Are you selling your eggs? Sorry if this is a repeat question!
I sell eating eggs to pay for feed.
Might try to sell OE hatching eggs (or chicks) locally,
I may even try to sell some of these pullets at POL come fall,
...not wanting to get into shipping anything, BTDT-PITA with other things.

I had some built last year for the coop that I built and my hens wont touch them.
Hmmm...pics please?
I assume you tried fake eggs and maybe confinement?

What size and out of what do you make your nesting boxes? I had some built last year for the coop that I built and my hens wont touch them. ALL of my hens lay in the 5 nesting boxes in the main coop. When this next crop of pullets really gets going on laying, its going to get really crowded in there.

Not really sure yet. I have a space between their coop and the CLs fence, a couple feet wide, so I'll probably build a couple vertical boxes there out of plywood. Maybe a little over a foot square box, with some perches out front for them to jump up on.

Here, under the window (the building is my workshop, not my house lol)

Did this addition, just for the BCMs and CLs.

Finally got the metal on the roof a couple weekends ago.

I'll get some pics today. Yup on the fake egg thing, the hens go in the coop look at the boxes and the fake eggs, talk to each other about them and then do an about face and head to the other coop to lay!! I tried locking them out of the other coop the other day just to see if they would consider the different boxes, well, you should have heard the racket that they all made in the run. All of them clucking and calling and telling me that there had been a terrible mistake made and I needed to come and fix it, ASAP! :gigThe boxes were built by a guy locally who makes them all the time with great success, I think! Slightly larger than a foot square, with a little bar in front. I don't know.... I'll post pics later and you can tell me what you think!

@WVduckchick, pretty nice looking digs for the chooks you got there! What is your flock size now?

Too big! Lol
Thanks, I have 9 sections now, with 5 different breeds. I’m probably right around 100 birds total, plus 11 Call ducks. Haven’t actually counted seramas and cochins lately. But all of mine are bantams except the 9 BCMs and 6 CLs. So ya know. :D

100 !! Holy moly girlfriend, that's a shipload of chicken! I know you used to breed the Lavender ...... Orpingtons maybe? So are you breeding the others? I thought I read on another thread that you are hatching OEGBs now?
