She did it!!
After a day of pacing, squawking/singing, in and out of nests, with Willie watching, she dropped the first on the board early the next AM, then another in nest later that day, then another today. Not as dark as I'd hoped, but pretty nice color.

Got my first BCM egg today!
The breeder warned me that they would start light and get darker in a week or so. This group is 25 weeks old

One CCL of my younger group(CCL and two different OE crossings) laid a couple days ago at 19 wo...
...and hasn't laid again, but she's been spooked out of the nest twice once by me and once by a henNot as blue as I'd hoped.

I've had a few dark layers, Wellie and Marans, darkness is pretty set by the first couple eggs IIRC...same goes with the OEs.Hmmm. My other breeds lay sporadic colors, so I’ve never really paid attention to shades as much, as far as whether they lighten or darken, but he said just the first few eggs are sometimes lighter colored. Then they go dark, then gradually lighten as their cycle wears on.
