Ok so I’ve been a little in denial because we’ve been hoping for only one rooster but I fear we have 3 roos out of the 4 chicks we got from a friend, who hatched them in an incubator. These chicks are 8 weeks old. The are buff Orpingtons and the gray and black ones are Green Queens. So the first one we are almost 100% sure is a roo. His comb has been red since week 3-4. The second is the gray green Queen. Its comb started to turn red around two to three weeks ago. The third chick is the other buff and a cross beak. Its comb started to grow but just turned red in the past week or so. The last is the smallest since day one. She has no coloration in her comb yet. So am I right? Do I have 3 roos?? 😭

I'd agree with your guesses. The first three are definitely cockerels
😭 thanks! I think a tiny part of me is still in denial. We can’t keep them all so it’s finding new homes, especially for the cross beak that worries me.

Unfortunately that's what it looks like
😭 thanks! The rest of my family thinks I’m crazy for thinking they are all roos but they aren’t the ones that have done tons of research. I just don’t k see how they aren’t roosters!
