The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

Luna, glad you found us. I didn't get to say that this morning. I remember my patients getting their first shower after surgery. After days of bed baths, they said it was heavenly.

mamagardener, so sorry you lost your girl.

I know how that feels.

Would you like some carrot-nut bread to go with that cocoa? I have plenty.

Pati, I love that those young people made up their own signs for the components. I hope you found a way to document what they created. That's awesome! In one of the Special Day Classes I teach, we are starting to introduce signs. many of the kids in the class are non-verbal, so they need a way to start communicating. We try to sign along with the songs, but don't know all the signs. Sometimes we make them up, but everyone knows what they mean. It's communication at its finest.

Red, therapeutic foster care is nonconventional. Most people I know do not do it. How's your wounded bunny?

Bizzy, I bet you make every job unconventional, or at least keep it from being boring.

Have you started anything fun in your new department?

Jena, is a pergola more like a gazebo or an arbor? I'm thinking I also need to build a pergola. We'll have to share horror stories.

EC, you didn't answer the question on the note. Now you will have two questions because here is the note for the next day or so......

Well definitly the most useful has been my power drill. Don't know how I ever got though life without it!!
I build EVERYTHING with it.

My "favorite" just for the heck of it is a extra large Craftsman screwdriver that is about a foot long. It's one of those screwdrivers that you use for pryin and beatin on stuff, ya know. I like it just because it's so honkin big, but I really can't say as I use it all that often...lol

I probably have probably spent over $100,000 on tools in my lifetime and I think the one tool I enjoy using the most is called a Turbo Carver. It's an ultra high speed (400,000 rpms) air powered dental drill.

My favorite tool is .. my husband! I built a chicken coop with it (him)

Nothing fun in the new dept at work. Just making fun of peoples names, and seeing how well ( or not) they are paid.

I don't have many of my own tools. But my post hole digger and hammer have built me a few corrals and repaired them!

At work I have a phillips and flathead screwdriver, and then a socket that is on a screwdriver handle, I fix the wagon handles with those.
I don't know what the socket on a handle is called.

It is so funny that you asked this! My DH has now started putting together a tool box for me so I don't have to keep borrowing (and forgetting to return) his tools! We were just talking about this!

Since I am NOT handy - yet - my favorite "tool" is zip/cable ties!!!

gotta admit, this is a hard one for me. I have so many tools I love.

My most important tool in my house renovation is probably my Wonder Bar. My dad gave it to me when I closed on the house. I had no idea how important that demolition tool would be.

I'm not sure if it is my favorite, because I no longer love demolition. I prefer to be building up over tearing down. My favorite tool for the construction side is probably my power driver/drill, as Tala said. It was a close call with the compound miter saw, though. Or, the table saw....or the belt sander.... or the Dremel....or.....

eta - ...or the Roto-Zip!!!!

Red, sounds like you need the same tool as Bizzy.

Boo, I think I call that socket on a handle a ratchet.

Chickylaura, hahaha, that's what I use to keep the ornaments on the Christmas tree. They are sooooo useful!

Opa, sounds like a VERY fancy dremel.

Boo, thanks for the reminder.
