It's only the Greenfire line that lay 60 eggs per year. My line which is based upon Toni-Marie Astin blew through that number by March 1st. They only just stopped because they went broody and I didn't catch it quick enough. If I had not let them go broody, they would have matched the laying capability of my Cream Legbars. Any my latest generation will be laying in the next week or so. So I should be getting 2 dozen per day. My Legbars are going to need to start laying twice a day to keep up.I would say both the Marans and Cemani need a lot of work. The bad part I see about the Cemani is the small amount of eggs they lay a year. I see them more a novelty and that's it. You can't do much with just 60 eggs a year.
