The Legbar Thread!

Hi Johnn -

The language and wording almost sound like a very prominent person in the Cream Legbar community in UK who aggressively 'goes after' people who's CLs are not to their liking - and you probably can find out exactly who that seller is by visiting that facebook page...which I don't use FB - so no way to tell you. ;O} Seems a bit strange that no rooster pictures are shown. I'm also sure that seller thinks that those examples are the best CLs to be seen...

Obviously the seller thinks that they are 100% worth it. I see that they have only made 3-sales on ebay...and their chosen name is 'cream legbar'

Good luck if you decide to get them - and keep us up to date with how you progress.

I wont be getting them, was just wondering if they were worth what they were asking. I would like some CLB's but if I do I want to get some female day olds for my broodies. If I were going to get eggs I wouldn't be getting any for that price as they wouldn't be for show or anything. I just really want more as they remind me of Melow, even if she didn't turn out to be a pure CLB! Thanks for the info :)

I'm assuming that's their best rooster...so no. They have cream necks with no gold which some people really want. The rooster doesn't have any chestnut which some people like but it is permissible in the breed. If you read the description you will see that roosters should have a strait, upright comb and that a comb that flops over is a serious flaw. Take a look at that rooster's comb!

Yep! Not impressed by the comb.

I agree not a very good comb, and his barring is quite light and his wings are low. Otherwise I like him. They are in the UK, and to me the male looks like possibly from the Rees line, or is similar to the Rees line. My Rees male looks extremely similar. Combs can be worked on so at some point during breeding so a not straight comb wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

Sent you a PM -- your decision is very wise. I hope that you will get a 'Melow II' one fine day. :O)
