Compared to the English birds I've seen the rooster is very colourful, and the hen seems to have golden hackles instead of cream or white. The roosters comb seems pretty straight!

CONGRATULATIONS on getting some autosexing crested blue-egg layers....Looks like your female isn't quite at the point of lay.... Do you know their ages? We are always curious around here what the source of your chickens is. I'm especially curious since I'm in TX too (Piney woods)

One cockerel that I had - at a young age had that very 'leggy' appearance - and he grew up to be a whoppingly large bird - and I think over 6.5-pounds or so. And he wasn't even a year old yet. If you decide to breed your birds you definitely want to take a look at some of the cream Legbars on the Cream Legbar Club's pages and select for traits that align with those plumage appearance. You will want to read the Standard of Perfection there too for a description of the bird.
