They are pretty darn cute and those boys. I do love the fact that as soon as they dried you could see they're all a crested breed. Truly thank you again Tim. Very very happy with what I have.
 
I know of a lady who put some two duck eggs under a silkie. One hatched out. The problem was that the silkie would go spastic when her sweet little baby would go in the pond for a swim. She would run around the pond bank raising all kinds of noise trying to help her baby out.

I do understand what you are asking as of how many Biels chicks could survive to where they dont need heat using a silkie hen.

Oh, that is too funny (not from the Silkie's point of view, however)!

So today I noticed my 4 month old Welsummer mounting my legbar hen who was hatched in the spring. Does this mean she is going to lay soon? She hasn't started laying, are they normally late starters or could it be because it's winter?
