In the Brooder
Hello and good day! We started raising poultry in 2016 and growing in size and understanding every day. Our first Chick Day at the local lumber yard was a site not for the weak at heart. Reserving chicks didn't occur because I couldn't make my mind up in time. Lucky for us, they had extras and after collecting a number (similar to a deli line), I was able to get the last 3, 5...actually 6 White Leghorns sexed female chicks out of Chick Day. Chicken math has grown since.
Summer of 2017 count is as follows: 30 Chickens, 35 Guinea Fowl, 7 Ducks (that live on the pond with our wild mallards) and 2 peachicks.
All below we sell each alone with there chicks/keets and eggs (minus ducks and peachicks)
Chickens: White leghorn, Blue Partridge and Buff Brahma and Light Brahma (pullets)
Guinea Fowl: Pearl Grey, Slate, White, Lavender, Buff and some crosses of colors I cannot explain without attaching photos.
Ducks: Cayuga, Pekins, and a few others (not for sale because they are all rescued and will let them enjoy a happy and care free life on the water).
We found out about BackYardChickens.com through Google and its been the best site so far for newbies and veterans alike. So many answers to questions without the negativity or bias opinions of social media
Other hobbies: does work, raising our daughter and volunteering count as a hobby?
We are able to be found on www.guineas.com as any available keets, eggs or guinea fowl we have will be listed here. *GFIA Member*
