If someone wants to pay the rent I can do that! LOL. maybe just a kiosk with pics but no birds.... I kinda doubt the other stores would be on board for chickens in the mall.

I am like you I don't like to guy chickens at flea markets. Only if you know they are a breeder and not someone just selling junk they got at auction. You can tell.... if they have EVERY BREED known to mankind stuffed in cases to small they bought them at auction and are just flipping them. If you find someone with just a few birds and breeds and knows what they are talking about, they breed them. Just quarantine them for 30 and you should be good to go.

Does anyone know somewhere, within about two hours of Nashville, I can purchase quality polish pullets or hens (I'd really like a frizzle)? I've had a very hard time finding a breeder. There is a hatchery in the area that has them, but it has received a lot of bad reviews, so it makes me nervous. Thanks!

Check your message box.....I have some Splash hens and some frizzled Polish hens in various colors. I'm bringing them all to the Woodbury Poultry Swap Saturday if that's closer to you than our farm in Shelbyville/Lynchburg! I had many more Polish hens for sale at the end of the summer but they went fast! Just decided to let go of some of the frizzles for the winter!

They are full of live and quite spunky. I built a new brooder to keep them save. The silkies got to go with them. They are small, smaller really than the new silkies.
Oh, wow! They ARE TINY! They are very strange looking, but cute. My husband said I couldn't have any (AS IF we could afford them to start with!)... He thinks they are a devil-chicken. I heard even their meat was black. Thank you for sharing pics of these extremely rare chicks! Good luck with them---then again, we know you are probably going to use them for some of your different projects, that should be interesting!

What kind of comb does she have? My first thought was a poor BLRW that is splash in color. They have a rose comb if it is a straight comb probably the sex link.

Anybody going to Bonnies Barnyard bash Thursday? want to meet up?

Just had my first hatch from my Choc pen 1 mauve, 1 blue and 2 choc Orps! Yeah!

Oh yeah just hatch 4 Ayem Cimanis too.... I hope I spelled that close LOL

HaHaHa you should get some La Fleche chicks and really weird him out!

Its not for the faint at heart , and it was a horrible experience, My one RIR she is 3 months got attacked by a possum , no visual cuts but closer inspection I found maggots near her vent

I kept getting bogged down with a script (probably from an ad) so I didn't get to the end of the article. Do you know how chickens react to hydrogen peroxide? I have used that very successfully with flystrike in my sheep. It will boil the maggots out, even those that have worked themselves down deep and out of sight.

It said you can use it, but not repeatedly, because it can kill healthy tissue.

HAHA.... too funny. NO. I don't have any projects planned for them. I didn't know I was getting them and when they hatched I was kinda like WHAT NOW????? Still kinda have that in my head. My son keeps asking me if they died.... he is worried about them LOL. Still might sell them. We will see. This weekend will tell the tale.........
