Are you looking for sexed or straight run? I have EE and RIR I can hatch for you. Soon I will have Blue and Black Barred Rocks, when they start laying. I can hatch anything, but that is all I have. Anne has pure Ameraucanas (Blues and Splashes I think) But if you are looking for one stop shopping... that may have to be your route. There is a hatchery in Franklin too.... Carol do you know the name? My EE roo came from a hatchery in Franklin. Here it is not Franklin, Triune - The Poultry House. I don't know anything about them, except my EE roo is very pretty. There is one in Franklin too I think....

I bought 8 pullets from Poultry Hollow a few months ago when I wanted some chicks to add to my brooder when I had a very disappointing hatch. I had only hatched 7, and I wanted a larger group. I knew what I wanted - and Poultry Hollow had them. I drove out there and was very pleased with my purchase. The chicks were healthy and feathered out well - and all 8 were pullets - so their sexing was accurate. I ended up selling 7 of them, though, because I decided to stick to just a few breeds. I kept one EE that I thought was particularly pretty. There have been mixed reviews about Poultry Hollow on here. So read up and make your own decision.

I've heard really good things about the Poultry House in Franklin, and I've emailed back and forth with them but haven't bought any chicks from them yet. I plan to get chicks from them later. Good luck!

Ack! I posted this in the wrong place at first!
Let me try this again!
Hi! I have been checking into Backyard Chickens for a long time but didn't realize there was a middle TN group until the other day. I just want to introduce myself as another crazy chicken lady! My husband and I have a horse/cattle farm between Shelbyville and Lynchburg and in the past year I have been raising and selling some of the more exotic breeds. I have become more excited about my chickens than my horses and cows! LOL! I have Polish Cresteds (Gold Laced and White/black), Silkies, Sumatras, Black and White Frizzled Cochin bantams, Mille Fleurs, Buckeyes, Auracanas, French Black Copper Marans and just got some White Faced Spanish and Black Jersey Giants from The Poultry House this week-end. Also plan on adding Silver Birchen Marans soon. We have sold everything we had for sale recently but I have a batch hatching today and again in a week. We are looking into becoming NPIP certified. You can see our farm at www.goldengaitsfarm.net. I love all things unusual! I am happy to be here and talk poultry with local crazies like me!

I am planing on getting 25-30 chicks around the end of march and I was looking for hatcheries in my area and I found this one http://www.poultryhollow.org/p1.htm Poultry Hollow Hatchery it is only about 2-2 1/5 hours away from my house. So I was wondering if any of you have ever bought from these people? and are they reputable?

I just got 4 sexed pullets (each different breeds/see avatar) from Poultry Hollow last weekend. I have read about someone getting cockerels in with her sexed pullets, but I have also read about good experiences. Because you want so many different breeds this might be your best option, but they may not have each of those hatched...I suggest you call or email to check availabilty. If you have questions I suggest calling them, but I would email initially about those breeds.

I enjoyed my trip to Poultry Hollow. I went with my family and my 3 boys had a blast seeing the animals - free ranging and in pens/coops. Judy was great with my boys. My chicks are 1 week old and doing great. I would buy from them again. Poultry House in Triune is a good option too, but they only fulfill orders on Saturday mornings at a local feed store...and offer different breeds on different weekends. It might take a few trips to them too.

I bought chicks from The Poultry House last year. Can't say enough good things about them. Here's their email: [email protected]. Doug is very helpful; you can send the list and he'll let you know whether they can fill the order. FWIW, I wanted 5 different breeds and was able to pick them all up at once even though they didn't all hatch the same day. They just held some of the chicks for me so when I picked up, I had chicks ranging in age from 3 days to 3 weeks. And yes, I put them all together and just made everyone stay in the brooder until the youngest was feathered enough to go to the coop. It worked out fine.

Oh, and I am one of the people who is not a fan of Poultry Hollow.
