Are you selling any of these? I am really wanting to add a Welsummer pullet to my flock.

I guess let's just see what I get. I wanted to keep the wellies so I can sell chicks next year, but if I get mostly hens I wouldn't mind to come off one. Guess I'll just look for you here and let you know?

OK people I need some info please.... Does anyone have call ducks for sale or know of someone that does? I had someone ask about them today and told them I would ask. If you have eggs ( and will tell me how to hatch them) I can hatch some for them. You can PM if you want.

Thanks. I was hoping to add one before my other chicks got too old to be in the same brooder. I have 1+ and 3+ week old chicks now in the brooder. Having trouble finding any hatched now. Poultry House will have them next weekend (the 10th), but I would be adding the one chick (a few days old) in with a couple of 4 week old BLR wyandottes (one of which, I think, is the Head Bubba of the flock)...this is probably a bad idea right? These are my first chickens I just don't know these things...

Leah21 - Yesterday I added several day-olds to some that were over 3 weeks old - and they did fine. I watched them for over an hour. They sleep all draped over each other. I checked on them many times today - and they're doing fine. Is there any chance you could get two new chicks instead of just one? That would give them a buddy their own size.

I really can't get more than one...ugh, city limits and her rules! BUT I do have a little EE that is petite. She is healthy (eating, drinking, playing, etc - I have been watching her like a hawk b/c she's smaller than the others) but she is a bit of a runt at nearly 2 weeks old. She could be the buddy...maybe :)

At least that's what my mother always said.

You can get the one chick and watch it carefully when you first introduce it to the others. I've been amazed at how easily chicks integrate with each other. It's when they get older that they start working out the pecking order and serious pecking begins. :) I just came inside from checking on my chicks out in the chicken house - and they were flopped all over each other sleeping. They woke up and were running all over the brooder. The oldest ones - easily three times as big as the babies - were feeding right next to the tiny ones. Chicks are just wonderful! I'll keep a close eye on them for awhile yet, though. Good luck with yours.
