The NPIP guy is coming to my place Sunday afternoon. So my question for all you folks who have been through NPIP testing - how did you catch each of your birds for them to be tested? If he had come in the morning, I would've just left them in the coop where I could get to them easily. But since he's coming in the afternoon, I don't want to keep them locked up in the coop until then. I think I will have to close off under the coop - cause if they go under there, there's no way I can catch them. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Ok if it was me, I think I would keep them in the coop. I have a net to catch mine with and I don't let mine free range so they are always catchable.

The SUNDAY part was throwing me for a loop......

Good Luck!

I have a net that I use to catch them. I was out looking at the coop and run earlier, and it should be pretty easy to block off where they go under the coop. That would keep them out in the open area of the run where I can catch them with the net. I'll close the pop door to the coop, and after each one is tested, I'll put him/her in the coop. Once they're all done, I'll open the pop door and let them all out in the run again.

Wish me luck! LOL!

And yes - I couldn't believe he said he'd be here on a Sunday!

Hey, y'all. Dad is back in the hospital again. He caught a C-Diff infection last time he was in. They admitted him yesterday and are pumping him full of fluids and antibiotics. He has lost about 40 lbs since this all started. :(

He is in quarantine and with my compromised immune system they wouldn't let me in to see him anyway. I was around their house all day last Saturday and used the same bathroom. We are all hoping that I didn't pick any of the little buggars up while I was there. Two of us in the hospital might send Mom to the loony bin. :)

To make life even more fun, my sister and her family are set to move sometime in the next couple of weeks. We'll know on Tuesday whether it is this weekend or the next. We figure if anyone else is to get hit with it we will get it right about the time they move.

When it rains it pours. Sigh.

Anne,
I am so sorry to hear that your Dad isn't over this rough spot yet. My grandmother is just getting over Salmonella. She is 94 and it took a lot out of her. I just pray that I am as spry as she is when I am 94. Is there anything I can do? I know I can't visit your father but would your mom enjoy a visit?

Yes, I would like to get the black silkie from you. I got sidetracked. The odd colored bird that I have that looks a lot like yours is a roo after all. Yours is neat and if they need to go as a pair, I will take them both.

I have splash, blues and blacks but none available right now. I have lots in the grow out stage. I would suggest going to some shows and picking up some nice birds from the sales section if you can't find anything on BYC.
