The Middle Tennessee Thread

Anne,
Lord have mercy. Did your Mama kill anyone in the administration yet? She would be so justified. Ya'll aren't catching a break regarding your Dad's health. If he is at Columbia, my step grandfather was there for the same thing several years ago, they didn't put him in isolation though. It was really bad but he was in poor health and 98 years old. We were all dressed in shoe covers, hair covers, gowns, and masked just to be in the same room with him but the door to his room was open to the hall. No limits regarding children or elderly was placed on visitors so I guess things haven't changed much. You have my sympathy. I know there is probably nothing I can do but if you think of anything...even if you just want to call me up to scream...I would love to hear from you.
I don't discuss or bring up religion normally as most people don't agree on anything regarding religion, but I will pray for your family. I believe in prayer (irregardless of religion preferred by the prayerer or deity prayed to) and will add you to our prayer list here with the family.
Emma has 2 eggs collected for you tonight. Give me a day that will work for you to meet up/drop off/etc and we will get you some. I don't know if immunity in the shell is possible. Sounds interesting though. We haven't had a cocci outbreak in a long time but who knows...tomorrow may be the day.
We do have 3 young Wellie roosters from Bethel Plantation growing up. They are probably 6 weeks old. If you want one, let me know and I will bring him to the egg swap. Emma said she will pick you out a good one. :)
When we do the swap out if possible I will pay you and get the black silkie. The oreo colored one...do you think it is grey? If so, I am sure someone would be willing to buy him at a 'good' price. I think there were some pictures of greys on the silkie thread.

Becky,
We will have to meet up an evening after work. I will drive out to Carthage to meet you as I probably won't make the trade days at a early hour. Alex has his science olympiad for school that day in Shelbyville. I am not sure what time it will end but we have to be at the school here at 6:30. I can leave with him from Shelbyville and can be in Murfreesboro in about 40 min but don't know what time that will be. How long do you plan on staying? Alex said the teacher told them they would be back at the school here at 2:30 and we are about 40 min from there. I could be there, in a perfect world, a little after lunch. Let me know if you want to try Saturday or pick a day next week and I will just drive out.

Donna,
The 12 guinea eggs arrived today so I will have some extra keets soon. Of course that is if I don't count my keets before they hatch. Do you want me to let you know when they hatch?

Sorry about the medical problem Anne. Becky just two letters off no r or e in butch just kidding. I have never had rose combs before and am wondering if someone would tell me when the tail feathers will rise on the males. The four I hatched from Anne are fully feathered and about half adult size now and I change my mind daily about their sex. Want the blue eggs but don't like not knowing. Any tips or am I going to wait until they try to crow.

Give us some pictures, soroco! We love pictures. :) Comb and full body would be great. We should be able to tell for sure at this point. :)

Lori- Mom has spent the day throwing a hissy fit at home. As she said, she needs to calm down before going back over there to chew people out. She is working on a letter to the administration. Once she gets worked up about something, people tend to dismiss her for being a crazy old lady. She has to calm down so they will believe her. :)
I appreciate your prayers. :)
Tell Emma thanks for collecting the eggs for me. I owe her. :) Does she want any from here to hatch? Have you lifted the hatching moratorium yet?

I still don't know if I will be there Saturday. It is still possible that my sister will move that day. Unlikely, but possible. We won't know until Wednesday. Surprise! You're moving RIGHT NOW!!!

If I am there I'll have a crate full of roosters to move and your black. Which may or may not be a rooster. I am having a really hard time sexing that one. I'll let you see what you think.

The oreo boy came from those black lav split eggs. I need to go back and look up what CJ called it. She said that they periodically got one of those out of that pen. Weird. Still, he's cool. I was really hoping he was a girl.

Soroco, Carol and Raven- thanks so much for the good thoughts. Y'all are kind. :)

Anne, so sorry.... wow.... people just don't care anymore do they? You would think someone would THINK before administering that much meds.

Lori, I will let you know when mine hatch, I set them last week 29 eggs. So mine will hatch before yours and I will know if I need or want more.

I am back from FL with some SLW hatching eggs

Tried to get some Blue Rocks but that fell through 2x's. Today I got to look at all the birds and see the damage. I lost about 8 chicks, not sure why on some, I had some get stuck in the feeder and suffocate. Had an injured Lavender pullet (I think she is getting ready to lay and he was a little rough on her) Several pens didn't have any water

and the eggs had not been collected in about 3 days in the breeding pens. I think I will pay someone to take care of them the next time I have to leave.

Today was supposed to be lockdown but I didn't get a chance to clean the hatcher. I have better hatches after I lockdown on day 19 anyway. I am going to set more eggs tomorrow too, maybe quite a few if they don't sell on the 24 hour auction page.

DID you SEE HOW MANY BIRDS I HAVE?????? With chicks probably over 300.... They CAN be taken care of in about 1 hour a day, if there are no MAJOR issues.

Thanks for the offer, I will file that in the back of my head for the next trip..... (not planning one anytime soon
