The Middle Tennessee Thread

Ok well that is 8-9 bags out of 40 LOL..... He orders about every 2 weeks and just ordered some. I will let him know next week so he can get it on the truck. If anyone ever wants some I will have extras I can sell anytime. I just bought 500lbs less than 2 weeks ago and only have 4 bags left to mix up. They really go though this stuff quick!

The Co-op in Ashland City carries the Tuckers layer feed. It is 22% mini pellets and I am going to try to switch over to just that. It is $14.99 a bag I think.... subject to change LOL.

Donna.....is it a viable eating egg or do we just toss it? Do you know what causes it?

Another question I've been using layer pellets, then switched to the crumbled feed because the guy at the store told me his hens love it....mine, not so much.....so apparently you are getting the Tucker mini pellets.....let me know how that works out.

$24.95 for layer and pullet grower.

They are not due till Thursday..... I think only 50ish have hatched already.  What colors you want?  LOL.  They guy I hatched these for is coming this weekend I think.  He gets first pick.  I only have a few Pearls and Lavenders.  Most are Coral Blue.  His original order was for 24, but he might get more.  I want to keep some CB but not many.

Let me know what you have left over and $$.

Not exactly like that - but similar. I've had all kinds of combinations of strangeness in eggs! LOL! As long as it isn't a regular occurence, I'd just consider it "one of those things" that happens every now and then. No big deal.

Ok experts.....ever get an egg like this?

Carol How did your Legbar hatch go?

Being the crazy person that I am, I put the legbar eggs in the incubator as they were laid. I should've collected them for a week and put them all in at the same time. But I didn't. So the one that was laid on 9/4 hatched on Monday. The one laid 9/5 hatched yesterday. There are eight more eggs in the incubator, and they should hatch over the next week. So far - two boys! The auto-sexing thing is both good and bad. I know they're both boys because they have the white spot on their head. If I didn't already know that, I would be enjoying them much more. I look at them and know that I'll be rehoming them as soon as I can. :-( It's kinda sad that boys just aren't needed much in the chicken world.

As the others hatch, I hope to get at least a few girls!

It is a perfectly fine egg for anything eating or hatching. The color on the outside is just a coating. Sometime their ink jets misfire or run out of ink. It just happens. I have some cuckoos that do that all the time. New layers will do it too.

Got my first MARANS EGG of the year
