Well I have done my first 3 bumble foot surgeries, had to go in and cut out and remove the infection. I had first applied some triple antibiotic ointment and it did fine on the milder cases of bumble foot. I had to go back in again on the other one that was way worse this time I applied some silver sulfadiazine this stuff is a must have in my chicken first aid box.
I have been working with one of my Golden Cuckoo Marans hen and some sour crop. With the repeated handling she had turned into a real sweetheart I would work the crop and message it trying to get her better. After a couple of days it wasn't helping and had decided to cull her but instead I figured I'd try to work up the blockage in the crop and hope she didn't aspirate on it. She was a real trooper and what a mess but she hung in during all of this. I gave her some fresh pineapple juice the enzymes broke down the blockage I followed with some olive oil the next day to relieve any gas bubbles and then would feed her yogurt with a dropper. 5 days later she is back to her old self it feels good to save one when you can.
I enjoyed reading your coop page and understand a few of your struggles during your build. This little gadget has helped me in the building of all sorts of things. The Kreg Jig
I had to share, this is a video of my 16 month old grandson imitating a rooster. Yes I take all the credit or blame. I taught him how to crow. He even wakes up in the morning crowing. LOL
