I just wanted to see what everybody thought of the show in Sparta. I had a blast. I can not wait until next year.

I was wondering does anybody know if they ever have shows in Overton or Dekalb County ?

DmRipp I hope you keep those leghorns till spring,I may just have to get some of those hatching eggs then. Been years since I have had leghorns but I always love the looks of the roos when I see them! Its nice to know yours aren't the flighty type.Thats the one draw back to the breed for me.

Thanks countrypunk for the chickens today. Its nice to have my favorite hen back,I don't know why she appeals to m but she always has. Yor dottes are really pretty, hope you do good with them this spring.

I am going to KEEP my leghorns.... LOVE the eggs. I just have a trio for breeding but I have about 8 other WL pullets and a few more growing out. I am going to set some in the next batch... if I don't sell them first.

Wayne, I will have some of her Super Blue Egg Layers after the first of the year, They are incubating right now. they are Leghorn/EEs I think.
And yea, I knew yyou would want her back, I like them, But need the pen for growing out chicks.

Help !!! this is my first time to post on BYC I don't know whether I am in the right place or not so please tell me if I am not. My question is a avery novice one
I have 12 hens mostly production reds that are pretty much the same age I figure , I bought them at the local feed store with the tag on each that they are all most old enough to start laying any day that has been a couple of months now and I get a couple eggs a week and the same holds true with my 2 roosters they don't crow at all and they for sure seem to be old enough. I had a goup of chickens I raised from day olds to egg laying age and they laid like crazy and the roosters crowed like a rock band but mr. Coon killed them one night I have since spent a fortune coon proofing my coop. so now I have the Ft. Knox of pens but no egg production or rooster crwoing what I am doing wrong ? The birds are healthy
