So excited -- construction has begun on the juvenile detention center annex! (That's what I'm calling the grow-out pen...) This time, it really should be finished BEFORE the chicks arrive. It should be equally suitable for a batch of fully feathered chicks or a broody hen and peeps. Not to mention that it could house an injured hen should the need arise. I like having the brooder on the back porch so I can watch hours of chick TV but after seeing the icy reception given to grown pullets introduced with the stranger in the night technique, a step 2 was deemed necessary by the reluctant spouse.

I listed some chicks on Craigslist if anyone is interested.

Mixed bantams: smooth sizzle colorful roo or black silkie roo over WCblue polish, red & black bantam cochins and black Cochin frizzle. Super cute chicks, many with Mohawks or frizzled.

And 3 bantam olive eggers ( eggs from gamebirdsonly ) 6/8 hatched sent all the way from Utah!

mixed bantams $3 each or 5/$10
OE $5 each or all 3 for $10
or make me an offer for my BYC friends!

Also just to let everyone know I'm in Murfreesboro but will be traveling to Fall creek falls on 2/14 and Gatlinburg the first week in April. If anyone wants me to deliver/pickup eggs or chickens en route let me know. Maybe I can help save you some money and trauma from shipping!

also great job Chad on the incubator! If I was to buy your cabinet how hard would it be to put a new heater in and how much do you think it would cost me? Thanks
