Thank you. I don't have any white eggs!

I have my LF bbs Orps, EEs, BCM under EE roo.

I think I will be able to tell on the Orp eggs but very doubtful on the others. I know last year when we had the broodies I tried to candle the EE and Marans eggs and couldn't see anything. Oh well at least they are free eggs and I will have some I can candle. I am going to check fertility of the eggs in the next few weeks (so far all have been fertilized that I have checked).

You'll likely see ok in the Orp eggs.
It was kinda funny on my second go round when I candled my first white eggs, I actually shouted for my DH to come look b/c I could SEE, & he poked his head in & was like "wow I can see it from across the room", as opposed to squinting blinking & then thinking I was making up shadows in the dark eggs. It is interesting b/c now that I've seen into the white eggs, I am actually seeing more in the dark ones too, I think b/c I really know what I'm looking at (not just pictures but real 3-D my own eyes know).

*waves hands* Me! Ours started laying three weeks ago. Can't wait to see the huge fluffy butts!!!

Hardinpoultry- I have no idea where Crump, TN is located. I work in Nashville and drive I65 to and from Lewisburg. Are you along that way to meet me for some eggs?

We can definitely meet you along the way somewhere. There is an exit on i-65 for US 412 to Columbia. That is probably the easiest for us. Otherwise we can meet somewhere in Nashville.

Hey guys!just wanted to post a picture of my chicks that I got from the poultry house!
I got 2 cuckoo marans,5 buff orpingtons,and 13 light brown leghorns.Also the week before I got these chicks I got some ameraucanas and some jersy black gaints.I can't wait till they start laying and hatching!

Chickenlover478, do your Marans have leg feathering? I know this is a new breed for them so I'm wondering which direction they went for a breeding flock.

No they don't....but I heard there really fun and nice chicks.and they lay chocolate eggs.lol
