The Middle Tennessee Thread

Why is it some people have no concept of why things are done a certain way. The repairs on our house are almost complete. I talked to my wife about what was going to be done on the front porch. She was there when I discussed with the contractor what size everything would be, how the rail would be made. It's complete, looks really good. She hates it!!!! I don't & never will understand. Ladies, how does your brain work ? Why can't men & women speak the same language? Is there a common ground we can meet on? Aaaaagggggghhhhhh!!!!!! I'm so confused !!!

Please don't confuse this as an attack on the way women think. It's mearly the random rambleings of a tired husband , I just needed to vent thank you.

That's a lost cause my friend. My wife and I are only eight years into the marriage and I have resolved that 1) I will probably never be right again. 2) If I am right again, I will probably never know about it. 3) Multiple efforts to get on the same page only result in the reinforcement of the rule that women reserve the right to change their minds. 4) I am no longer allowed to purchase anything that is worn or is considered home decor.

On a lighter note, anybody need a kitten? My kids "rescued" two from the garden center at Lowes that were in "imminent danger" roaming under the racks. They have been bottle fed, weened, using the litter box and are now 7-8 weeks old and ready for forever parents. Oneboy (all black) one girl (mostly black with a little tortoise shell).

DaddyBird - where are you located? I wouldn't mind having another cat around here - but only if they're outdoor cats and can help with keeping mice away.

I'm excited that today is hatch day for the CLB eggs under my CLB hen. She's been such a good and faithful broody for the past three weeks. Can't wait to see how many of the 9 eggs hatch. By the way - when she went broody, I didn't have anywhere to put her - and even though I've had other broodies that stayed with the flock, I wanted her separated from the rest of the CLB flock. So I bought one of the small coops from the Monteagle guy. I took out the partition in the nest box so that it would be one large nest box rather than two small ones. That small coop is PERFECT for a broody hen. For us folks who couldn't build a coop if our life depended on it, it was a great deal.

Chocolate...Chocolate...Chocolate.... and tell her your sorry for goofing up the rail ( we both know you didn't really goof up the rail ) The new MAGNUM ice cream bars are super awesome. My wife can be ripping me a new one and the sparkly gold wrapper stops her in her tracks every time she loves bright shiny things. If she had wings she'd hovering round the porch light at night

You guys are sooo bad...Right but bad. I hope none of your wives read the forums. I have been married 32 years and my husband has totally lost all hearing in my voice range, so there is hope for you all yet! ;) :p

We are in Nashville but my wife has been bottle feeding and sleeping with these little critters to make sure there was not an ounce of feral left in them for the new owners. She would kill me if I sent one to be a barn cat. On that note, though, Petfinder.com runs a program where thy catch feral cats, spay and neuter them, then return them to farm positions as mousers. It might be worth looking into if a mouser is what you need.

I can tell you the answer. I am a graphic artist and I run into this problem all the time. Some people (not just women) can not take a word description and translate it in their heads to an accurate internal picture of how it will look. It is an advanced skill based on memory and spatial relationships and sometime physics it there are moving parts. I have run into problems all the time with describing advertising layouts to someone. That's why we usually use thumbnail sketches but some people are so design impaired that that doesn't help all that much. Those are the jobs I just LOVE to do. I usually add an aggravation fee if they manage to literally give me a headache.
